Rachel Frenkel graduated from the Buchmann-Mehta School of music in Tel-Aviv, studying under Prof. Mira Zakai. Since 2006 she has been a member at the International Vocal Arts Institute, where she most recently sang the role of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro.
During the 2006/2007 season she participated in the New Israeli Opera Young Artist Program, studying with Efrat Bennun and performing the roles of HÃ¤nsel HÃ¤nsel und Gretel and 2nd Lady in Die Zauberflöte. Rachel Frenkel has sung Mahler’s 4th Symphony with the Buchmann-Mehta music school symphony
orchestra and also performed the role of Sesto Giulio Cesare. Earlier this year she sang in Cherubini’s Médée at La Monnaie in Brussels. She took part in a Mozart program at the Aixen-Provence Festival and gave recitals at the Delft Chamber Music Festival in Holland. She has been based in Berlin since October
2007 and studies with Abbie Furmansky and John Norris.
