Rob Meijers began his career as a baritone. Under Mya Besselink he continued his studies as countertenor at the Maastricht Conservatory. He was awarded the Music Award Maastricht in 2005.

That same year he marked the conclusion of his formal training with performances of the role of Emone in Traetta’s Antigona with the Limburg Symphony Orchestra under Jan Stulen. His repertoire includes Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Bach’s St. John and St. Matthew Passions and Magnificat, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Händel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem. He made his operatic debut in 2006 as Halimacus in Keiser’s Croesus for the Hessisches Staatstheater in Wiesbaden and was also a soloist in Bach’s Mass in B Minor
for the Aldeburgh Festival. He is currently coached by countertenor Michael Chance.
